BTTC International Table Tennis Training Camp

Welcome to the best table tennis training camp in England!

Friday 23rd-Monday 26th October 2026

Barnsley Table Tennis Club's International Table Tennis Camp is the fastest growing, one of the biggest and the best training camp available in England. 40 players and 25 staff come together for four days of intense training, teaching, community and so much more! We truly believe that this camp is about more than table tennis, we are a community of people who come together from different parts of the world, supporting players to work together with staff to achieve their goals.

Our camp takes place across two venues and we are proud to welcome some of the best European and UK Head Coaches in the game, with each coach working closely with their group of players for  21 hours of coaching. The multi ball hall is equipped with air conditioning and holds seven tables, whilst the exercise hall holds 14 tables in a newly refurbished, state of the art sports hall. Our meals, rest and recovery activities take place at YMCA Barnsley, where the exercise hall is located. The building is equipped with catering facilities, a conference room, games equipment and a place to relax. The venues are located seven minutes away from the nearest hotel.

No matter your ability, BTTC's International Table Tennis Camp caters for you. From behinners, people with disabilities and players competing nationwide, our professional coaching team are on hand to offer expert coaching advice to advance your game! Our coaches work closely with every player over the camp, from multi ball sessions to planning and individual feedback meetings for every player at the end of the camp.

What's involved?

Group Exercises and Drills

Throughout the camp we will be completing lots of different group exercises and drills that will be explained in detail by the coaches. Drills will vary throughout the camp and will cover all core aspects of the game and will be tailored to the goals of players.

Multi Ball

All players will participate in multi ball over the course of the camp. Players will attend a minimum of two multi ball sessions throughout the camp. These sessions take place in the multi ball hall. Players will take part in part multi ball and part exercises during the multi ball session.

Meals

Our profrssional catering team prepare fresh breakfast, lunch and dinner on days two, three and four at Wellington Street Camps. It is vitially important that all participants eat well during the rest and recovery periods. All dietary requirements are sought on booking.

Rest and Recovery Activities

Players are able to utilise this time to rest and relax in between sessions. We have onsite games available such as Xbox and PS5, as well as zones for players to relax and socialise. There will be activities such as pool and table football, as well as an Experience Barnsley event.

Planning Meetings

After day one, players will meet with their group to discuss their aims and goals for the camp, what they are wanting to work on and improve by the time they leave. Coaches will use the information from these meetings to adapt and come up with individual plans for each player on the camp.

Interactive Workshops

Coaches will deliver presentations that will focus on a specific part of the game, with players taking part in small group discussions and breakouts where they will then share their thoughts with the whole group.

Check In & Check Out

At the start and end of each training session, the groups will sit together for 10 minutes to share their feelings and goals before and after the session. This time also allows the coaches to build a picture of each player and their goals as the camp progresses. Check in & out is a great opportunity for everyone to discuss the session and grow together as a group.

Feedback Meetings

At the end of the camp each player will meet with their coach and group to discuss how they feel the camp went, what they have taken away and how they will continue to work towards their goals after the camp. Player will be encouraged to give each other feedback throughout the meetings.

Unfortunately we are not yet offering accommodation however, the local Premier Inn is around a 7 minute walk from the venues.

2. What is the ability level?

Our expert coaching team cater for players of all ages and abilities, from beginners to players competing in national tournaments. Whether you're a beginner or a player playing nation wide, you will fit right into this camp!

All allergy information is sought prior to the camp taking place, so that our catering team can plan and prepare a menu that suits everybody's allergen needs.

No, players will work on a close basis with the coaches that have been allocated their group.
